Committee reports:
Website--Lori Heiden made a two part proposal in regards to updating the website. First, create our own PTSA website. The advantages would be a more sustainable model for moving forward. This would allow East to be more up-to-date in regards to PTSA minutes, school and community happenings. Lori will be involved in keeping the website going as well as training future website administrators. Wanda will check with Pat Zimmerman about disclaimers. Second part, establish an email distribution list. One distribution will be for all parents and one will be for the PTSA board. Wanda Morrison called for a motion. DJ Holmes made a motion that we begin working on the East PTSA website and email distribution list. Rise’ Siegel seconded.
Reflections--Wanda received a call from Katie Shureb. PTSA membership dues need to be submitted to the State organization before Reflections entries can be accepted. East PTSA submits dues to the State in December. The deadline for receiving Reflections entries was moved from January to December. Wanda immediately notified DJ Holmes and Rosemary Leeb of the problem. Membership information was faxed to the State and a check in the mail within thirty minutes. As of Friday noon, the State had not received our check. Wanda will keep everyone updated on the situation.
By-laws--Executive board will meet in January to update the by-laws.
Membership--Presently have 326 members in the PTSA.
Legislative--State Superintendent recommends changing requirements for graduation. Farmington schools are in good shape and won’t have many changes. January 5, 2006 is a Budget Forum.
Spirit Wear--We have Spirit Wear to sell. Possibly offer a discount for the remaining items. Will see if Carol Snodgrass can make a flier. Wait until spring to place another order and sell right before track season.
Next meeting: Monday, February 6, 2006 @ 12:45pm.
Meeting adjourned at 2:00pm.
Respectfully submitted,
