Jane was elected President in a special meeting on February 2, 2006 in the East conference room.

Student Council—the winter dance is scheduled for Thursday, February 16, 2006. Ms. Corbitt still needs 2 parent volunteers to chaperone the dance and about 4 volunteers for concessions. Goodfellows canned food drive was a success. Over 400 cans were collected and picked up on November 30, 2005. Ms. Corbitt would like to thank the parents and community for the support. Ms. Shammami’s Titan Time won the pizza party for collecting the most cans. The candy cane sale in December raised $115 and will be donated to the MASC charity of the year—Kid’s Food Basket. Love pops will be sold for Valentine’s Day. The proceeds will go to Cystic Fibrosis. Pencil collection is ongoing and pencils will be accepted until a certain shipping weight is reached. Notebooks are also being accepted.

ECU—Chicago trip is June 1-2, 2006. Open only to 7th graders. 5-7 openings are still available. Students will be visiting museums as well as the King Tut Exhibit. Five teachers and twelve parents are attending the trip. Money is due now.

Website admn—Lori Heiden reported the highlight of the website is the ability to view the entire school calendar. Also a space for parents to blog anything that benefits the PTSA community.

Discussion—Having a Reflections awards ceremony half an hour before one of the school board meetings since one was not held last year for the district winners. Action: Angela Beauford will contact Diane Bauman to see if this is possible.
